Can you hear me now?

Yep- She can!

On both sides of her head!!

Nyah got her soft band BAHA today!

When the audiologist put the hearing aid on Nyah's head her face lit up with delight. She could hear! Then i whispered in her hearing aid "Say 'hi mommy'" very softly. And Nyah said "Hi mommy!" clear as day! It was beautiful! I got tears in my eyes right there at the Dr!

When I took it off for her nap here is our conversation:

Nyah: On on on!  

Me: Do you like it better when it is on?

Nyah: Yes!  On Please!

Me: I will put it on when you wake up from your nap.

Nyah: OK

I can tell that she can tell there is a difference!  It is so cool! 

Not to be outdone by his sister, Kyan spelled his first word (besides his name) today all by himself while were outside with sidewalk chalk. 

Kyan: Mom- H-O-T spells HOT! (said while he was writing each letter)

Me: Yep- WOW!  Great job!

And he was right!  It got to 92 degrees today! HOT! 

We caught a butterfly!

Our backyard is like a butterfly farm.  There are TONS of them flying around, so it was only a matter of time before Kyan asked me to catch one for him.  And I am happy to say that I was successful!

 Kyan was so delighted that he carried it around for the rest of the afternoon singing to it. 

"Mom, he loves to hear me sing!"

He would set it down and preform for it.

"Mom, he is watching me ride my bike!"

He would glaze into the jar watching it.

"Mom, I love my butterfly."

"So, Ky-Guy, What should we name him?"

When I asked him if we should let it go he yelled "No- Mom!  I love this butterfly!"   But I think we will let him go before bedtime tonight.

Nyah's Ear Surgery

Today Nyah had a tube put in her right ear.  It is the first surgery that either of my kids has had and I didn't like it one bit!  But Nyah was a trooper and she did great!

I am pretty sure I cried more then she did! I got to go down with her to the OR and be with her as they put her to sleep.  I was so glad that they let me do this, it was a much easier transition for Nyah.  The hospital staff were wonderful. 

It was a short surgery... only like 15-20 minutes. So, we were home for lunch.  Nyah was tired today but otherwise normal!

After the surgery,  she drank 4 cups of apple juice... poor thing was so hungry!   But she did so great!

Happy Birthday Nyah!

Nyah turned 2 this weekend!  Where does the time go?  I mean seriously wasn't it just yesterday that we brought her home?! 

We got her a playhouse for her birthday and she loved it! She played in it for hours! 

Egg Hunt 2012

Our church had their annual egg hunt this weekend.  The kids always have a great time!

I got my new camera last week and I was excited to get some action shots of the kids... so there are a lot of pictures for you to see!

All I wanted was a pic of them with their buckets after the egg hunt, but couldn't get them to both look at the same time.  Classic!

Mom- can we go to the park?

Yes, yes we can!

With the weather being so BEAUTIFUL we have been doing a lot of playing outside and going to the park! Hooray for an early spring!

Fun in the SNOW! Finally!

We FINALLY got some snow around here and the kids were so excited to go out and play in it!  It was also great to burn off some of our energy from cabin fever!  We have had such a great time the past few day and I got some really " cool" pictures! (Pun intended!)  There are lots of them so get ready for picture overload!

Kyan LOVED sledding this year!  It is the first time he has been into in.  In years past sledding involved lots of tears on his side... but not this year!  He was going down the hill face first all by himself and carrying the sled up too!  Such a big boy!

Nyah also loves the snow and sledding... although I keep her on a sled with me for now. It is great exercise to go up the hil and works her core muscles for her balence, so it is a win-win! She mostly loved tramping through the snow around the yard.

Mommy loved the naps they took after all this playing out side! : )

Kyan's Buzz Lightyear Friend Party!

This was the first year we had a friend party for Kyan.  But now that he is in preschool and has lots of little friends we thought it was time!   Of course, it had to be Buzz Lightyear themed!   

We ran space ranger camp for his friends and they had a ball!

We had some fun space snacks!

Jason dressed up as Zurg and crashed the party! The kids got such a kick out of chasing after him!

We got to go on a Space Mission (in the basement)

Sang happy birthday and had cupcakes!

and opened presents!  

A fun Time was had by all!

Christmas 2011

Christmas was so fun these year! Here are a few pictures!

We Started out up north with the Norman side:

Grandma made hats for all the boys, and Nyah is sporting her favorite gift... purple PJs.  Nyah really started to show her love of clothes and purple this Christmas and since these PJs were both she would not put them down!

Christmas Morning at home.  The kids were pretty excited about all their presents!

They were also very serious about opening them too!

We spent Christmas Evening at Mima's and Pepa's house with some of our cousins!

I took some really fun videos of the kids opening the gifts and playing with them. I need to edited them and get them loaded... hopefully they will be up soon!
