We are ready to bring our daughter home... but our house is no where near ready! :)
We talked with our Country Specialist about the timing of when we could expect to bring Baby girl home and we were told that it is normally 10-14 weeks from when you hand in your paper work. But that the last people who traveled to that same agency in Korea traveled after 6 (yes SIX) weeks. So where does that put us, you ask?
6 Weeks: Nov 19th {Thanksgiving is Nov. 25th}
10 Weeks: Dec 17th {Christmas is Dec 25th}
14 Weeks: Jan 14th
So basically the holidays and a very busy time!
When I first heard this news I basically freaked out. We had already had one week go by and we had not done much to get ready and now we only had 5 weeks left! We were SOOOO not ready!
So, it took another week for my head to get in the right place and now I hope she comes home soon! Ready or not we want our baby girl home! :) I mean she could be home for Christmas... It is not a for sure but wouldn't that be AWESOME!

Baby Girl's Dossier
Dossier-French for "a bundle of papers"
We got all of the paperwork (called the Dossier) together to accept baby girl's referral and handed it in to our agency yesterday (Friday)! The agency checked it over to make sure everything was there (they said it looked perfect!) and then sent it on to Korea!
Now we have to wait for Baby Girl to get cleared from Korea to come to the USA and also Jason and I have to be cleared from the USA to bring Baby Girl home. This will probably take 3-4 months... although I am not that sure about the timing! I am going to e-mail our country specialist and ask more questions about timing and traveling next week.

Think Pink!
We are so excited to announce that we got a referral for a baby girl this week!
We have a DAUGHTER!
This was SIGNIFICANTLY faster than what we were told. We were told that we would have to wait 12-15 months for a referral so, we were not expecting this blessing!
God is so good! We never in our wildest dreams thought that we would be getting a referral so fast! It goes to show you what prayer can do! We know that we have a lot of people praying for us!
We cannot post pictures on the blog until our princess is home so, sorry you will have to wait.

"When I wake up, can I play tractors?"
Before Kyan goes to sleep for the night or for a nap we often times will talk about what he is going to do when he wakes up. This has helped him in the bedtime transition and he does not usually cry after we have that little conversation.
Most times he Says "When I wake up, can I play tractors with Daddy?" He LOVES tractors. He can name most of them and spends hours pushing he car/trucks/tractors around the table and floor. Here we have been creative and built a bridge for the tractors to drive under.

Ky-Guy...Fry-Guy
We have a look-through window from our kitchen to our 3-season-porch. It was there from before we added the porch on. We left it because we liked the light that it let in. Now, I like it because while I am working in the kitchen I can see Kyan while he is playing on the porch.
Today Kyan climbed up on a chair and looked though the window. I opened the window up and he said "ummmm, can I get a small fry please?" just like he was a McDonald's drive through window!
I swear we do not eat at McD's that often! : )

Busy Busy Busy!
My family (The Velner side) was (and still is) in town for most of July! It was SUPER busy but a great time!
My brother Justin lives in the Czech Republic and I had not seen him for 2 years! He had gotten married in September and it sucked not being able to attend the wedding... but we did have a wedding reception for him here in the USA while he was in town! Kyan also got to meet his uncle Justin and auntie Ola for the first time.
My sister Karly lives out on the East coast so I only get to see her about once a year (however we do talk daily on the phone) It was great to spend time with her and her 3 kids!
While everyone was in town we were able to get some family pictures taken! My Cousin and his wife took all the pictures for us and they turned out AMAZING!
The Whole Velner fam!
Just the grandbabies
Karly, Paul and kids
Jake and Sherrie and Kids
Justin and Ola
Mom and Dad (AKA: Mima & Pepaw and Kim and Tom)
Jason, Kyan and Me (Fawnda)
This is why we have not updated in a while... we have been hanging out with family! :)

We are on THE List!
Our Home Study was finalized today and we are OFFICIALLY on the waiting list!
We decided to go on the GIRL waiting list this time. We were told that the wait time for a girl referral is 12-15 months and that wait time to travel {after receiving our referral} is 11 months. (You read that right 11 months.) Total predicted wait time: 23 - 26 months. That is MUCH longer than when we adopted Kyan.
For some comparison, here are the wait times for when we adopted Kyan:
Wait time for referral: 5 months
Wait time for travel {After receiving a referral}: 11 weeks
Total wait time until Kyan came home: 8 months
We are SUPER excited to be on the waiting list and we have to trust that God is in control of the timing!
Some other good news! We were able to update our home study with the same Social Worker that we had with Kyan's adoption. This was so great because we really like our social worker and it is great to continue working with her!
Question: How do you wait for 23 - 26 months for your baby girl?
Answer: One day at a time!
